Yes — Leave and License registration is legally mandatory in Maharashtra under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999. An unregistered agreement is not admissible as primary evidence in court during any landlord-tenant dispute. Registration legally protects both parties and proves occupancy rights.
The all-in cost is typically ₹2,500–3,500 for a standard residential agreement:
• ₹999 — Lex-Sign service fee
• ₹500–1,500 — Stamp duty (0.25% of annual rent + 0.25% of deposit)
• ₹1,000 — Government registration fee
Commercial agreements may be slightly higher. We provide an exact calculation on request — just share monthly rent and deposit amount.

You select state, article type, and stamp value, pay online, and receive a SHCIL-backed digital stamp paper with a unique certificate number. It is legally valid under the Indian Stamp Act and accepted by courts and government offices across India. Lex-Sign supports eStamping for Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, and more states.
No subscription is required for the Startup plan. You pay ₹15–25 per eSign and ₹100 per document only when you actually use the service. There is no monthly fee, no annual commitment, and no credit card needed to sign up. The Business plan offers volume discounts for teams with higher usage.
